MRS. GABRICK ~ COUNSELOR

Hey there! My name is Patti Gabrick and I am the school counselor at Spirit Lake Elementary. This is my 15th year as a Timberwolf and everyday is still a joy. I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology and Communications at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and my Masters in Counseling from Idaho State University. As the school counselor, I work with the teachers providing guidance lessons in the classroom. Topics include how to be a learner, empathy, emotion management, problem solving, personal safety and team building to name a few. In addition, I also facilitate small groups where students can learn from each other and practice skills in a safe environment. Topics for the small groups vary each year depending on need but may include friendship, social skills, emotion management,divorce and grief/loss. Finally, I am available to meet with students one on one to assist them with difficulties that are impacting their education.

To effectively deliver a comprehensive counseling program based on the American School Counseling model that fosters development in academic, social/emotional, and college and career readiness. Elementary counseling programs will provide all students the opportunity to lean, gain skills and to develop their unique potential to become successful in all aspects of life.

Weekend Food

Spirit Lake Elementary and the Rathdrum's Lion's Club have been working together for the past several years to provide nutritious snacks for children over the weekend. If you are interested in this program please contact me.
